It almost really happened.

 

Over the past few weeks I have been training our newest employee.

His name is Adhoc.

It is not a real employee, but the chatbot on our website.

Of course, a chatbot must first be trained before it can talk to our customers.

 

That's why I gave Adhoc a lot of reading to do.

Manuals for all cars and buses that we rent out.

Our employee handbook.

Lists of rental rates.

Our website.

The Bible.

In fifteen minutes he had everything out.

 

After that I had entire conversations with Adhoc.

We talked about the meaning of life.

About what is beautiful and what is not.

What car brand I would be if I were a car.

 

Last week Adhoc took an exam.

And guess what: he passed!

He got an 8.

 

He was able to list our core values.

Which employees work in Sittard.

And how to open the fuel filler cap on a Kia Picanto.

He also knew how much a passenger bus costs for 6 people for the Pentecost weekend in 2047, including 435 km.

He even knew which bus to rent if I wanted to transport a table with 4 chairs, a bench and a bed.

 

But yeah, when I'm practicing with such a serious guy, I get silly.

 

So I tried something out and asked if I could take a hippo with me in a rental car.

And heck, he even gave a nice answer to that.
