Corona Wailing Wall

On Good Friday I heard an interview on the radio with 2 people who had launched the website coronalaagmuur.nl.

The Stroom church in Amsterdam believes that more complaints should be made.

The founders write: 'The Dutch are known as a complaining people. Except in times of corona, then complaining seems to be forbidden. We have to remain optimistic, you often hear.' That is why they give visitors to the site the opportunity to vent their hearts online.

At home I looked up the site and it contained some real gems of genuine whining:

Shitty neighbors – Making noise all day, can't even sit normally in my garden

Lapswans – I now realize how little my husband does all day

24/7 - I like working from home, but my wife is there all day!

Die – die, sanders, die!

Corona – I don't like my Corona anymore

A bit of a good old moan every now and then can be quite a relief.

I usually do that in the car (especially when I'm driving alone, my wife Elly doesn't allow me to swear like that). A car that hangs around in the left lane for too long. Or someone who wants to overtake at the last moment, while I'm already driving in the left lane. Or someone who drives right behind me when I'm going to overtake at the last moment 😉

My fellow road users then have to pay the price.

Luckily they can't hear me.
