Extend or shorten rent?
There are many situations imaginable in which you need a rental car or rental van for a shorter or longer period than expected. Not every car rental company makes it easy to return a car earlier or later. We don't make it so difficult.
A change in the rental period naturally means a change in the rental price, but possibly also in the rental rate that applies. Different rental periods have different daily rates.
Shorter rental
Suppose you rent a micro car from us for a week. Let's say a Toyota Aygo. Then you pay the advantageous daily rate of 9,99 euros. If you now unexpectedly need the car for a shorter period and return it after five days or earlier, for example, the regular daily rate of 12,49 euros applies and your discount of 2,50 euros per day disappears.
Longer rental
Of course it also works the other way around. If you rent a car or bus from us for a few days and you want to extend the rental period to say a week, then you also pay the favorable daily rate that applies to that rental period.
Van or bus
For our vans and buses, different rates apply on Saturdays than during the week. If you reserve a car or van for Friday and unexpectedly need it on Saturday, two different daily rates apply.
Can I always renew?
It is almost always possible to extend the rental period of a car or bus. It is important to let us know as soon as possible, so that we can reserve the vehicle for you for a longer period. In addition to the extra rent, insurance and kilometers, there are no additional costs for us, such as for changing the rental contract.
However, if you return a car late without reporting this, the rental will automatically continue and you will pay a fine of 50 euros per day above. Please note that if a car is returned late, we may not be able to serve a subsequent customer - especially during busy periods!
In Summary
There are various scenarios conceivable in which you need a rental car for a shorter or longer period, which we cannot explain here. Simply and briefly, at Adrem we always determine the rental price afterwards. We base this on the number of days that the car is actually rented and not on the number of days for which the car is reserved.
Not all car rental companies work like this. Remember that we cannot always rent out a previously returned car in the reserved period and thus in fact lose rental income.
Closing comments
Finally, note that with some other rental companies you pay a higher rate for renewal than the regular rate! It is – as crazy as it may sound – wiser to return the vehicle on time and rent a new one. Crazy, right? With us you can usually always change a reservation quickly and easily, without 'inexplicable' extra costs. That is also why you rent from Adrem!
