Just grab a basket
The dog food was gone, so I said in the morning: I'll get that.
I know exactly where those bags are, so I walk into the store, towards the dog food.
But that was too soon.
"Would you mind grabbing a basket?" I heard a salesperson call out.
Yes, of course, in shops you either have to take a shopping basket or a shopping cart. In the pet shop they only have baskets, so there is no choice.
I think ahead for a moment. I see myself walking neatly with a basket to the dog food section.
Then grab a huge bag of food from the shelf. And then stuff that 20 kilo bag into my shopping basket to walk to the checkout. On the way, the handle of the basket breaks off, which I then get the blame for. The bag tears and all the dog food spreads over the floor.
I foresee problems.
So I shout back to the salesman, "I need a big bag of dog food, so I'll leave the basket there for a while!"
For once, that was good.
This reminded me of the following.
I see it happen often: you have to transport something that doesn't actually fit in your car.
A stack of patio tiles.
Plasterboard.
A refrigerator.
The optimist in you says: oh, that fits! And believe me: I am such an optimist myself.
But the realist says: just act normal. That doesn't fit, so just rent a van. For a day or part of a day. In the region Stein
