Continium discovery center in Kerkrade stands for an educational day out. There is plenty to experience in this scientific and technical museum for children. The changing range of activities and the interactive exhibitions allow kids to discover the world around them in a playful way.

Our houses

In the Explore Zone you can discover the wonderful world of science and technology. From the coal mines of the past to the supermarket of the future. In the Experiment Zone you can experiment at various stations yourself, and in the Tinkerlab and the Science Labs you can tinker together all kinds of constructions and (technical) installations yourself.

Did you think that the smartphone held no more secrets for you? In the temporary expo SMARTphone! – on display until 4 September 2016 – you will discover exactly how your smartphone works. From the battery to the radio signal. And finally, there is the Hall of Fame, where all the classics of Continium are stored.

ContinuumTarget audience

Of course, you are never too young (or too old) to discover, but in our opinion the Continium discovery center is most interesting for upper primary school and secondary school students.

Transport

Continium discovery center is located in the heart of Kerkrade, on the Museumplein Limburg, where you can also find the Columbus Earth Theater and the Cube Design Museum. Situated right next to the train and bus station, 'Dcc' is easily accessible by public transport. Are you coming by car? Then you can park for free at the P+R parking lot next to the station.

Opening hours and entrance

Continium discovery center is normally open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00am to 17.00pm. Check the website for exact opening hours.

Children aged 4 and over and adults pay 12 euros entrance fee at the cash register. For 11 euros you can order your ticket online. Children aged 3 and under are admitted free of charge. The entrance fee does not include access to the Science Labs. Depending on the activity, you pay between 3,50 and 7,50 euros extra for this.
