With approximately 4 million visitors per year, Efteling in Kaatsheuvel is by far the most popular amusement park in the Netherlands. Less than 1,5 hours drive from Maastricht and Heerlen, the park is also a popular destination for the Limburg family.

The park

efteling1The Efteling is open 365 days a year. In the summer months of July and August the park is even open extra long.

Besides being the most visited, Efteling is also the largest amusement park in the Netherlands. The map that you receive upon entry is therefore not an unnecessary luxury. There are also various treasure hunts and walking routes through the park, such as the Children's Fairy Tale Tour.

In the Efteling you will find various attractions for young and old. Attractions for real daredevils, such as the recently opened Baron 1898, but also for the whole family, such as the Droomvlucht and Fata Morgana.

In addition to the more than thirty attractions, there are also various shows and other entertainment. For a bite to eat and a drink, you can go to one of the many restaurants or take-away points.

Entrance

It is best to get an entrance ticket for the Efteling order onlineAn e-ticket is 34 euros*, which is 4 euros cheaper than the price you pay at the box office and you don't have to wait in line.

Children up to 3 years old have free access to the park.

Are you going to Efteling with 20 people or more? Then you get a group discount. If you can't get enough of the park, an annual subscription might be more advantageous. For 15 euros per month, you can save money from six visits.

Accommodation

The Efteling is ideal for a day out, but if one day is not enough for you, you can also spend the night in the Efteling Hotel or the Efteling Bosrijk holiday park. During your stay there you have unlimited and earlier access to the park. And parking is completely free!

Rent a van

ford-transit-double-cabIf you are traveling to De Efteling with a bunch of kids, for example for a children's party, it is much easier to rent a minivan and leave your own car at home. Just think…

With a group of children you will soon need two or more cars. This not only means at least two drivers, but also double fuel costs and parking costs (at 10 euros).

At Adrem Car Rental Limburg you can rent a 6-person van for 124,27 euros per day**. That means just one driver, one refueling and one parking token. How easy is that?

* reference date: July 2015; for current ticket prices see: https://tickets.efteling.com/
** including 270 km, insurance and VAT, but excluding fuel
