The Netherlands is crazy about economical cars
The Netherlands has been a leader in fuel-efficient driving for three years in a row (2013-'15). The average CO2-emissions of cars sold. In the Netherlands (2015) this is 101 grams per kilometre, lower than in any other European country. Are we really that environmentally friendly? Perhaps... But the fact is that the tax benefits, which were abolished this year, also helped. It is expected that the Netherlands will have to relinquish its leading position this year and we will even fall outside the top three.
Apparently it helps us when the government stimulates us (financially) to buy economical cars. Now that many advantageous schemes are being abolished, it will become clear how principled we all are…
