New car brands in the Netherlands
The automotive market is constantly evolving and 2024 will bring a range of new car brands to the market, ready to transform the automotive industry. These new brands focus on innovation, sustainability and technological progress, with a strong focus on electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems. In this blog, we will review these new car brands, while also looking at which new car brands are being introduced in the Netherlands.
New car brands on fuel

The electric KIA EV9 is the new electric SUV from KIA and has a range of no less than 541 kilometers. In addition to the fuel version, Peugeot has also released the 3008 in an electric version. This e-3008 has a range of 525 kilometers. Volvo has launched an electric car with its EX90 with a range of 600 kilometers and an electric motor of up to 517 hp. Volkswagen will launch its first electric Sedan in 2024: the ID.7 with a range of 700 kilometers. BMW also came up with a new electric car brand, namely the iX2, which charges very quickly. Within half an hour you can have the battery 80% full. Finally, the French Renault has released the Scenic e-Tech Electric. New Chinese car brands often have an electric drive and both the Netherlands and Norway have the most charging stations. Which new Chinese car brands can you already see in the Netherlands? These are the five most popular in 2024:
- Aiways: a company founded in 2017 that produces only affordable cars with electric drives.
- BYD: BYD stands for Build Your Dreams, a company from 1995. In 2024 it is one of the largest organizations in China in the field of transportation. The company produces (electric) cars and even electric buses.
- Hongqi: This company, founded in 1959, is one of the oldest passenger car manufacturers. Hongqi is part of the expensive, luxury car brands and produces limousines and other luxury cars.
- Lynk&Co: Lynk&Co is part of Geely Auto, which also owns Volvo. Lynk&Co came to life in 2016.
- NIO: This company has been around since 2014 and focuses on the production of luxury cars with electric drive, which are packed with technological gadgets.
