Pay a little and still get everything?

A few months ago I went out for dinner.

That was before the corona era. You could still just go to a restaurant.

For those who have forgotten: a restaurant is a place where you used to go (usually with other people) to eat something. Maybe that will be possible again soon, but then you will be sitting so far apart that afterwards you will probably say: from now on we will eat at home again, that is much more fun.

Ennyway: I had skipped lunch that day, so I was quite hungry.

When the friendly staff asked: 'Would you like some bread first?' I didn't refuse.

You know how it is, a basket of fresh, crackling bread that smells really delicious. And a dish of fatty, salty butter or herb cheese next to it. Not to be missed when you're hungry.

The basket was quickly empty.

The waitress had noticed that too. She asked kindly: another basket? Of course! Bread, sip of wine – I was enjoying myself. My hunger was slowly starting to subside.

The second basket was also quickly empty.

When the friendly waitress came by to take the menu (she should have done that earlier), I was actually already full. I thought it was rude to sneak out now, so I ordered a small dish.

Funny, that this way you only have to pay a little bit, and still leave the restaurant feeling full.

I thought that this is also the case with renting a car.

You only pay a little bit, but you get a whole lot car in the Stein region along. Usually even a nearly new car, with the most recent options.

For a few tens of euros you can go a long way. Ridiculously little when you consider that the cheapest new car costs more than €12.000 these days.

When I think about that, I seriously consider raising the rental rates 😉
