Unless you're in a hurry. Then we'll make sure you can leave quickly.

Driving a passenger bus is almost the same, but still different than driving a passenger car. A bus is longer. You have to pay attention to that while driving. Because the bus is longer, you can take the bends a bit wider than you are used to.

Another point is reversing. Difficult because you have much less visibility than in a passenger car. Therefore, have people outside the bus assist you when reversing. That can save a lot of hassle later.

But I forgot to tell you something.

About damage. Sorry!

Three special cases of damage are interior damage, intentional damage and overhead damage.

Interior damage This can happen when you put your feet on the dashboard, or when you let a biting dog sit in the car and do its thing. Pets are not allowed in our rental cars, but if damage occurs to the interior, it is not covered by the deductible and will have to be paid in full.

Intentional damage This is caused when you deliberately crash your rented van into another car in an attempt to get our insurance company to cover the damage to the other car. Who does that? I certainly don't want to give you any bad ideas. 😉 It might be helpful to know that in the case of intentional damage, you'll have to pay the damage to our van plus the damage to the other party's car, plus a fine. Furthermore, you'll be registered as a fraudster and added to a database of all insurers...

A special case of damage is the overhead damage. This is damage to the bus up to 75 cm below the roof edge, measured from above. This damage can occur by driving under a bridge that is too low for the bus, or along a balcony or other obstacle. Or a parking garage that the bus does not fit into.

Because the clearance height is always indicated for lower bridges, and because the height is also displayed on the bus, this overhead damage is easily prevented. If such damage does occur, unfortunately, there is no deductible. Such damage must be fully reimbursed. Overhead damage can cost thousands of euros. Therefore, when planning your trip, take into account which bridges or tunnels you will need to drive through!

Our passenger buses are always 2 meters high, so too high for the parking garages at Schiphol…

Fine

Privately, we know it: we prefer to throw fines in the trash. But what happens if you get a fine with your van?

Longer rental

If you need to keep the bus longer, that's usually not a problem. However, we do ask that you let us know. The easiest way is to call us during office hours (Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM - 17:00 PM): 043-3521100. You will then hear immediately whether it is necessary to come by to possibly supplement the deposit. Send an email to info@ad-rem.nl is of course also possible.
