When you're moving house, you face a choice: do you move yourself or hire a professional moving company? Both options have their pros and cons. We'll list them for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hire a removal company<\/h2>\n

When you hire a professional removal company, you essentially have nothing to worry about. The more or less self-evident tasks of the removal company include lugging the belongings, loading and unloading the removal van, and the actual transport.<\/p>\n

You can also leave the dismantling and reassembling of your furniture to the removal company. Just like packing and unpacking your belongings. Although many people prefer to do this themselves for cost reasons.<\/p>\n

Besides a degree of convenience, a removal company also offers a degree of security. You can be sure that the move will proceed as quickly and efficiently as possible, and that your belongings will be handled with care. Furthermore, your belongings are insured during the move.<\/p>\n

Of course, there's a price tag attached to all of this. You'll have call-out charges, labour costs, and transport costs to consider. A move by a removal company will quickly cost \u20ac1,000, and that's often assuming you pack and unpack all your belongings yourself.<\/p>\n

Moving yourself<\/h2>\n

Those who want to reduce the cost of their move can opt for a DIY move, with some help from family or friends. Your costs will then be limited to transport, moving materials, which you will have to buy or hire yourself, and possibly moving insurance. And of course, you'll treat your helpers to lunch or dinner.<\/p>\n

When it comes to transport, for a complete move, it's best to hire a (large) van. This is more efficient and cheaper than making numerous trips back and forth with a small van or a trailer. Many people also find it more comfortable to drive a van than a car with a trailer. By the way, you can drive a van \u2018simply\u2019 with your car driving licence (licence B). Hiring a van costs an average of 60 euros per day.<\/p>\n
