A sofa, old carpet, or some clothes you haven't worn for years. But where do you take them?

The first question you need to ask yourself is: are the items still usable, or do they have absolutely no value anymore, even for someone else?

Sell or give away

Useful items can still be sold on sites like Marktplaats. That sofa you call ‘worn out’ might still serve for years in a student house, for example. Second-hand clothing, especially designer items, can also often be sold for a good price. The same applies to ‘old’ children's toys that have hardly been played with.

Has something been on Marktplaats for weeks or months and you just can’t sell it? Just because someone doesn't have the money for your old things doesn't mean nobody wants them. Maybe you can give them away for free. Nowadays there are plenty of ‘free’ Facebook groups where you can give away your old stuff.

You can often have (saleable) items collected for free by the waste disposal company in your municipality. They will then offer your cast-offs for sale in a second-hand shop. This way, you do a favour for someone else and for the environment.

Recycle

Often, goods are no longer usable, but parts or raw materials still have value. A scrap dealer, for example, will happily take that dilapidated bicycle. In fact, this is a form of recycling. Small second-hand goods – books, electronic appliances, toys, and textiles – can also be offered at set times in the BEST bag. You can also (free of charge) hand in the BEST bag at a recycling centre or second-hand shop.

Environmental park

We've already mentioned the name: the recycling centre. Here you can often bring your (sorted) waste free of charge a number of times a year. Certain types of waste can even be brought there for free at any time, such as old paper, textiles, electrical appliances, pruning and garden waste, and scrap iron and metal.

A trip to the recycling centre presents many people with a practical problem: how do I transport my old belongings? Often, one's own car is too small. Borrowing or hiring a small van or minibus offers a solution.

Hire a van

At Adrem Car rental Limburg You can hire a car or bus not just by the day, but also by part of the day. Handy for a quick trip to the recycling centre. Perhaps you'll even have enough time left to not only take away your old sofa, but also to pick up your new piece of furniture from the furniture shopping district straight away.

Did you know that with us you can already get a Van (Fiat Doblo, Peugeot Partner, Citroën Berlingo) hire from €9.90 per day (excluding VAT)?
