Most new cars have air conditioning. However, older cars and entry-level models often have to go without. So how do you keep your cool when the temperature rises above 25 or even 30 degrees Celsius?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Park in the shade<\/h2>\n

If you park in direct sunlight, your car will quickly turn into an oven. Therefore, look for a parking spot in the shade, for example, under a tree. If that's not possible, place a sunshade with reflective foil on your windscreen. This will prevent your dashboard and steering wheel from heating up. You can also put a towel over your dashboard. If it's safe, leave your windows open a few centimetres. This can quickly make a difference of a few degrees.<\/p>\n

Open the front and rear windows<\/h2>\n

It's not very effective to open just one window for cooling while the vehicle is moving. It's best to open a front window and the rear window on the opposite side \u2013 front left and rear right, or vice versa. This will create a good draught.<\/p>\n

Sun blinds<\/h2>\n

Do you want to protect passengers in the back seat from the burning sun? Then stick sunshades with suction cups to the rear windows. If you are transporting a baby or child in the back, this is practically a must. You can also tint your rear windows with a tinted film.<\/p>\n

Take water with you<\/h2>\n

When you get stuck in traffic or even just have to stop at traffic lights for a moment, the sweat will soon be trickling down your forehead and body. It is important, especially on longer trips, to replenish this lost fluid with water or an isotonic thirst quencher. Take a cool bag with ice packs to keep your drinks supply nice and cool. Also pack a cold pack and place it on your neck for extra cooling.<\/p>\n

Don't drive in the hottest part of the day<\/h2>\n

Between eleven and twelve o'clock and three and four o'clock in the afternoon, the sun is at its highest and the radiation is most intense. It is better not to get in the car then. For example, do you need to go do some shopping? Preferably do this in the morning or evening. Do you absolutely have to go out? Then follow the advice above!<\/p>\n
