Summer tires

It is high time to mount summer tires on your car. Because from April to September this is the safest choice for your car, given the temperatures during this period.

Why summer tires?

Summer tyres are designed for warm conditions with their rubber compound. Because they retain their shape, they offer optimum roadholding. And thanks to the tread, you have optimum grip.

Winter tyres are not dimensionally stable in warm conditions and therefore have a higher rolling resistance and wear out faster. Not good for your fuel consumption, the environment and your wallet.

Profile depth

Summer tires are not only designed for warm conditions, but also for wet roads. The tread ensures this. Although the law requires a minimum tread depth of 1,6 mm, we recommend a tread depth of at least 2,0 mm for summer tires. Note that the tread depth of new summer tires is three to four times deeper!

On a wet road surface, the shallower the tread, the less grip and the longer the braking distance. It also increases the risk of aquaplaning, where your car becomes uncontrollable.

Order summer tires online

Are you going to order your summer tires online? Make sure you order the right size tires. You can easily read the tire size on the side of your current tires or find it in the information booklet with your car.

Savings tip: always have your car tires changed at the same time as a minor/major service or the MOT inspection for your car. Or combine it with the summer check or air conditioning inspection.

Alternative: all-season tires

Don't feel like changing tires every season? All-season tires combine the best properties of summer and winter tires, for good road holding and grip in all conditions. Hot and cold, wet or dry.
