5 times surprisingly close

Many beautiful Belgian and German cities are surprisingly close by. We list the most beautiful cities within a radius of one and a half hours drive from Maastricht for you.

Liège – 32 min

A half hour drive from Maastricht you will find Liège, home to the largest market in Belgium: La Batte. This Sunday market with over five hundred stalls can be packed.

Aachen – 35 min

In Aachen you can enjoy culture and great shopping at the same time, because the main shopping streets are located close to the Aachen Cathedral and the old town hall. Is it raining? Then go shopping indoors in the Aquis Plaza or in the Elisengalerie.

Leuven 1 h 7 min

Leuven is a lively student city. Sights that you should definitely not miss are the enormous town hall on the Grote Markt and the Groot en Klein Begijnhof.

Düsseldorf – 1 h 15 min

Düsseldorf is well worth a visit. Visit the Altstadt – the historic city centre – and don’t miss the Medienhafen, the converted harbour area with its modern architecture.

Cologne – 1 h 19 min

If you go to Cologne, you can hardly miss the Cologne Cathedral. The Great St. Martin's Church (Groß Sankt Martin) is also worth a visit. On the left bank of the Rhine, you will find the Cologne Synagogue, where you can have a kosher lunch.

Are you going to Germany? Remember that in most city centres you will find a environmental badge need? This includes Aachen, Düsseldorf and Cologne. Rent a car in the Brunssum region? That's possible at Adrem!
