Are fuel prices rising?

Will the prices of petrol and diesel rise? That question is on the minds of many motorists after the recent attacks on Saudi oil facilities.

To cut a long story short: it won't be that bad. The price of petrol and diesel will probably rise by one to two cents per litre. There are sufficient oil reserves. Therefore, there will be no oil or fuel shortage in the short term.

Due to market disruptions, the rise in oil prices is indeed being reflected in fuel prices. However, the price of fuel is only determined one-fifth by the price of oil. Therefore, the fact that the price of crude oil has risen explosively in recent days does not mean that fuel prices will increase proportionally. A full tank of fuel is expected to become ‘only’ a few euros more expensive in the coming period. This way, you can still advantageously Car hire in the Geleen region.

A litre of Euro95/E5 currently (23-9-2019) costs 1.75 euros. The record high is almost 1.90 euros and dates back to 2012. Do you think this record will be broken following the recent attacks on oil facilities?
