Can you rent a car if you've had your driving licence for less than a year?

Having a driving licence doesn't automatically mean you can hire a car everywhere; most car rental companies have a number of rules or requirements attached to it. This can, of course, vary from one car rental company to another. With most of them, you need to have had a valid driving licence for about one or two years. It's important that you already have some driving experience on paper. So, hiring a car if you've had your licence for less than a year will be difficult with most car rental companies. The age for renting a car 

In addition to needing to have held your driving licence for at least one year when hiring a car, there are also age requirements. Most car rental companies have a minimum age to hire a car. Nevertheless, the insurance company reasons differently, and we adhere to these requirements. If you are older than 23 but not yet 25, you may also have to pay a surcharge on top of the rental price. This naturally varies by car rental company and country. 

Less than a year after getting your driving licence abroad 

When you want to rent a car abroad, there are always different requirements in each country. The rules vary enormously, so always pay close attention to them. In the United States, for example, you do not need a driving licence of one year to rent a car. Just like in France, Germany and Spain, you can do so from the age of 18.e rent a car. In Greece, however, you must be at least 23 years old, and in Italy 21 with a driving licence held for at least one year. 

Please note that in addition to the correct age, you have also taken out the correct insurance when renting a car. This will prevent unnecessary costs for damage afterwards.
