The top 5 best-selling cars in 2017 remain unchanged from one year earlier. Volkswagen leads the ranking, ahead of Renault and Opel. Peugeot and Ford complete the top 5.
Ford is closely followed by Toyota (6), which saw sales in our country increase significantly last year, jumping from 8th to 6th place. Skoda (9) is also on the rise in terms of sales figures and ranking. While Kia (7), BMW (8) and Mercedes-Benz (10) had to give up a place.
Although the brands in positions 6-10 swapped places, we see no newcomers in the top ten.
Designs
Volkswagen and Renault both have no fewer than three models in the top 10 models.
For Volkswagen, these are the Up (2), Golf (3) and Polo (8). The latter model sold considerably less in 2017 compared to the previous year, when Volkswagen's compact model was still in third place.
The best-selling model of 2017 was the Renault Clio. The French car brand also has the Captur (9) and Mégane (10) in the top 10.
The top 10 is completed by the popular Opel Karl (4), which came in at number one, the Kia Picanto (5), Opel Astra (6) and Ford Fiesta (7).
'Worst' selling models
Perhaps even more interesting than the best-selling models are the cars that sold the least. In other words, the exclusive models.
For example, in 2017, one Ferrari F12 was delivered in the Netherlands and one McLaren 650. Not surprising, because for the latter you have to pay almost two and a half tons. For that money you can give your entire family a Renault Clio.
