Looking for (relatively) cheap designer clothing? Then you'll need to get in the car and head to Designer Outlet Roermond. In this outlet centre, manufacturers offer their designer clothing at often high discounts. The centre is operated by McArthur Glen, which has outlet centres all over Europe.
With over 150 shops and 200 brands, Designer Outlet Roermond is a true shopping mecca, attracting over 3.5 million visitors annually. A mix of fashion lovers and day-trippers. Because with various restaurants and a children's playground, the brand village has grown into a real attraction. The majority of visitors are German. This is not surprising, as Roermond is a stone's throw from the German border.
Discounts of up to 70%% on designer clothing
Discounts on brands such as Adidas, Diesel, Mexx, Michael Kors, Nike, Prada, Gucci and Superdry are as much as 70%. These often include items from old collections that have been removed from stores. On average, you'll pay about half of what you would ‘normally’ pay. The low prices are also made possible by the low rent paid for the land just outside the city centre.
Europe's largest outlet centre
After various extensions, the centre, located on the site of a former army barracks, covers an area of no less than 45,000 square metres, making it the largest outlet centre in Europe. This honour was previously held by Serravalle Outlet Centre near Milan – also owned by McArthur Glen.
Practical information
On Sundays and (German) public holidays, the access roads can barely cope with the influx of thousands of visitors. The number of parking spaces is also insufficient on the busiest days, forcing visitors to use a nearby industrial estate.
You should therefore plan your visit for another day. You'll have ample opportunity to do so, as the outlet centre is open 363 days a year, only closing on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The centre is normally open from 10.00 on weekdays and from 9.00 to 20.00 at weekends. Parking costs €3 per day.
Christmas shopping
With Christmas just around the corner, Outlet Centre Roermond is of course also an ideal location to do your exclusive Christmas shopping. This is your chance to get, for example, a designer handbag, watch or jewellery at a significant discount and surprise your loved one or someone else. If you really don't know what to buy, you can of course also just order a gift voucher.
