Can you rent a car through Uber in the future?
Uber has grown rapidly of late and has been much in the news due to the impact it has on the taxi industry. The company Uber offers cars in such 52 countries from all over the world. Uber connects its customers through a efficient mobile app with private drivers, but also official taxi drivers. But will Uber also be more attractive than hiring a car in the future?
Uber is a ride-hailing service that connects passengers with drivers. You can use the Uber app on your smartphone to request a ride. The app will show you available drivers nearby, their estimated arrival time, and the cost of your trip. Once you confirm your ride, the driver will pick you up and take you to your destination. You can pay for your journey through the app, or in some cases, directly to the driver.
In 2009 the company, which was founded in San Francisco with their services for the city's residents. At that time, people could only use a limousine service. They already worked with the same principle as now: people could hire a limousine via an app. The journey was paid for by credit card and customers could rate their driver. In July 2012 Con men London for the first time also using the service and later that year in December Uber also came to Amsterdam, The Hague English Rotterdam. Uber is still growing and it's already operating worldwide.

Uber works only with Private drivers who transport passengers for Uber with their cars. Uber therefore has its own drivers, each with their own car. There are a number of requirements that an Uber driver must meet: the driver must at least 21 years old to be and to be in possession of 4-door car. In addition to these requirements, the car must not be older than 10 years.
Uber is financially interesting for people without a car
Uber has been operating in the Netherlands for several years and is becoming increasingly popular compared to public transport. The reason Uber is so successful is because it is on average so 50% cheaper is taking a taxi. Furthermore, you have the same advantages. It is easy, safe, and affordable. With Uber, a car is at your door just as quickly as when ordering a taxi. That is why Uber is a for people without their own car. prime alternative to taxi and even public transport.
The consequences of Uber for transport
The Netherlands has approximately 8 million passenger cars which can actually be used by one person. In that respect, Uber offers a solution: cars are used more efficiently, meaning fewer cars are theoretically needed. This should lead to a cleaner environment, fewer traffic jams, and extra employment.
Whether this will indeed be the case remains to be seen: in a number of countries there are already There have been strikes by Uber drivers They claim they can barely make ends meet with the money they earn from driving their own cars. Furthermore, it remains to be seen to what extent people will be less inclined to buy a car, even if they can afford to do so financially.
Is Uber also suitable for renting cars?
Uber is currently focusing on transporting people from Point A to B. Testing is already underway in America with the delivery of parcels by drivers with your own car. But is Uber also interesting
for people who want to use a car for a whole day, with or without a driver?
If we the comparing rental prices for a whole day that will be difficult. The cheapest car at Adrem Limburg, the Class A, coast €18.50 per day, including insurance. These prices seem too low for Uber to enter this market as well. This is because there two parties have to earnAbout Uber and the car owners.
However, there are already initiatives such as Snappcar English Mywheels This shows that renting a car from a car rental company isn't always cheaper. The prices of some cars on Snappcar can sometimes turn out cheaper because the car owners see it as a fun side income, without having to live off it. However, do keep in mind that it's often about a somewhat older cars goes, unlike the cars you can rent from car rental companies.

Uber is brilliant. It's high time the taxi market was shaken up. And I don't think you'll be able to hire cars with Uber in the future. However, you will be able to pay increasingly simply, just like with taxis. I can definitely see that happening.
It's ridiculous that Uber just disregards the rules. The taxi industry is being ruined by this. I think if they start renting out cars too, you'll really be in trouble!
I've been hearing the name Uber mentioned a lot lately. I haven't used it myself (yet), but I always hear positive things from friends and family who have. Best, Samantha
