The temperature is regularly hovering around freezing again. Frost, snow and road salt are disastrous for your car. It’s high time to get your car ready for winter. That’s exactly what we do with our cars here at Adrem.
Slot cleaner
Frozen lock? Use lock de-icer or hold a bag of warm water against it. Remember to keep the lock de-icer outside the car…
Treating rubbers
Prevent frozen doors by lubricating the rubbers with acid-free petroleum jelly. Talcum powder also helps.
Rutland tenderer
The quickest and easiest way to deal with frozen windows is with a de-icer. Of course, you can also ‘just’ scrape. Or use an ice cover so you don't have to scrape at all.
Screenwash
Replace your summer screenwash with antifreeze in good time for winter.
Winter tyres
Replace your summer tyres with winter tyres in good time. Because it rains more than it snows in the Netherlands, it's also a good idea to have rain tyres or all-season tyres fitted. You won't need to change those.
Accu
Your battery is nothing more than a large accumulator, and accumulators don't cope well with low temperatures. Your accumulator discharges more quickly in cold temperatures, and on short journeys, the dynamo doesn't get a chance to recharge the accumulator. Therefore, don't only make short journeys.
