Skiing or snowboarding in the Netherlands? You can do that at SnowWorld Landgraaf, amongst other places. One of two SnowWorlds in the Netherlands. This indoor ski slope is located on a mine spoil heap: the Wilhelminaberg, also known for the longest staircase in the Netherlands.
Five pistes plus a fun park
Opened at the end of 2001, SnowWorld was briefly the longest indoor slope in the world. It has since grown from two to five slopes, with a complete winter sports resort surrounding them, featuring cafés, restaurants, and even a hotel. So, you no longer need to travel to Austria or Switzerland for a ski holiday!
Besides the ski slopes, there is also a fun park, with various obstacles such as down rails and jumps. A real treat for the extreme winter sports enthusiast.
SnowWorld no longer has the longest indoor ski slope in the world. It is nevertheless still the third-largest indoor ski centre in Europe. Furthermore, it has the world's only official indoor competition slope, where World Cup races and European Ski Championships are held.
Did you know that SnowWorld is currently building indoor ski slopes in Barcelona and Paris? Winter sports in sunny Spain; you couldn't make it up!
World's largest adventure park
SnowWorld has recently opened an adventurous (outdoor) Adventure Park, featuring a climbing park, adventure trail, ziplines and a toboggan run. Did you know that this is the largest climbing park in the world? So, Landgraaf is the biggest in something once again!
