With around 4 million visitors per year, the Efteling in Kaatsheuvel is by far the most popular theme park in the Netherlands. Less than 1.5 hours’ drive from Maastricht and Heerlen, the park is also a popular destination for families from Limburg.
The park
The Efteling is open no less than 365 days a year. During the summer months of July and August, the park is even open for longer hours.
Besides being the most visited, the Efteling is also the largest theme park in the Netherlands. The map you are given upon entry is therefore no unnecessary luxury. There are also various treasure hunts and walking routes through the park, such as the Children's Fairytale Trail.
In the Efteling, you'll find a variety of attractions for young and old. Attractions for true daredevils, such as the recently opened Baron 1898, but also for the whole family, such as Droomvlucht and Fata Morgana.
In addition to the more than thirty attractions, there are also various shows and other entertainment. For a bite to eat and a drink, you can visit one of the many restaurants or takeaway points.
Starter
The best way to get an Efteling admission ticket is Order online. An e-ticket costs €34*, which is €4 cheaper than the price you pay at the ticket office, and you also don't have to queue.
Children aged 3 and under get free entry to the park.
Going to the Efteling with 20 people or more? Then you'll get a group discount. If you can't get enough of the park, an annual pass might be more economical. For 15 euros per month, you'll save money from just six visits onwards.
Overnight stay
The Efteling is ideal for a day out, but if one day isn't enough, you can also enjoy an atmospheric overnight stay at the Efteling Hotel or the Efteling Bosrijk holiday park. During your stay there, you'll have unlimited and earlier access to the park. And parking is completely free!
