Where are you travelling to?

I heard an interview with musician Frans Pollux on the radio.

Frans Pollux is looking for Uwe.

Uwe is a German who lived in Roermond for 23 years.

In 2013, in a small café in the centre of Roermond, Uwe says that he will not live much longer. He has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Uwe announces that he wants to spend his final weeks on an island in the sun.

Everyone who hears this is shocked.

The friends are raising money for Uwe's trip. Together they sing and dance one last time to his favourite song.

After that, you leave for good, a one-way ticket towards the end.

Uwe's favourite song was a Limburgish song by musician Frans Pollux: 'Hald Mich Ens Vas'. Many people find it a beautiful song, except for the landlady of the pub, Resi. Resi tells Frans that she has grown to hate the song because it always reminds her of Uwe.

When the singer heard this, he decided to investigate.

Did Uwe die? Or is he still alive?

I'm not going to tell you how it ends.

Frans Pollux has an exciting podcast recorded in which you can listen to his search for the truth behind Uwe's departure.

The first 4 episodes are available, with the rest to follow later this month.
